Secrets of My Hollywood: Family Affairs (#3)

Secrets of My Hollywood Life: Family Affairs (#3)
Jen Calonita

Hollywood secret number three:
Want to know how hot a star is? Count their monthly red carpet appearances. THe hotter the star, the fewer they make-that is, unless they have a movie or album to promote. WHen they're doing the publicity tour, all bets are off- a star may go to four events in one week just to gush about their incredible new project. Alexis is hitting the town to do just that. But if Alexis is still hogging the carpet nightly a month from now, that mean her star wattage is going nowhere. True A-list star don't have to go to an opening of an animal shelter or talk about their favorite lip gloss. They know the real way to keep in the public's good graces is to sit home on their $5000 couches and be as elusive as Johnny Depp.

The filming for sure-to-be blockbuster movie Pretty Young Assasins has wrapped up and teen movie star Kaitlin Burke returns to life on the set of the prime-time drama Family Affair. After ten seasons of filming the hit TV show, Kaitlin thought that she could see any curveballs coming but with a plotting new actress on set, all bets are off. The new diva, Alexis, makes even Kaitlin's long-time nemesis Sky seem like a puppy in comparison. Can Kaitlin keep her sane boyfriend, her insane job, and her composure in the face of this new star power?

With this series, I am surprising not bored with. Really surprised. When you think about the plot line in the beginning of the series, in book one, when you reallly think about it, it right out of Disney's Hannah Montana. Star who want to be normal and lives a double life. I mean yea, i wish authors were a little more creative, but i still like the series. Its not serious, and the characters are really likeable/hateable/relatable.
Kaitlin Burke for example, even though she is a movie star in the book, i can relate to her in my life. When Alexis comes and tries to dominate everything, it reminds of the time where this one girl who made the high school volleyball team by begging and crying, tried to keep that act up, and talked all sweet to the coach to make sure she wasn't cut when second try outs came around. She was, and so was Alexis. Even wishes that they had a boyfriend like Austin. He, so far, has done everything right, always says the right thing, and with all guys in books, his looks are determined by our imagination(which is always best). Liz is the faithful best friend who would kick butt if needed. Sky is the girl you've always hated until you guys find something in common. That you both hate someone else.
I find this book really enjoyable, and finished really quickly. I planned to get the fourth addition, but i am going to wait till it goes to soft cover, so that next review will be waiting. (Hey, it's a tough economy!)
P.S. Sorry for not writing in so long. I just started high school, and had a lot on my plate, but the semester just ended, so i've decided to try to read more books i like alongside the ones i have to read for school. (You can't imagine how tall the stack of books in my room are that i haven't read.... at least 12 in it. I just keep buying books, I'm addicted. Oh well.) The only thing i sort of didn't like about this book was the cover, but you know what they say, you can't judge a book by its cover.
